Chapter 7 Requirements
If you earn less than $48,492 per year, have less than $50,000 equity in your home, have an automobile valued at less than $2,500
(or lease an automobile or make payments on an automobile) and have no other significant assets, you will likely be categorized as
a Consumer No-Asset case. This means that the trustee will not have to administer any of your assets.
Chapter 13 Requirements
Any individual, even if self-employed or operating an unincorporated business, is eligible for chapter 13 relief as long as the
individual's unsecured debts are less than $336,900 and secured debts are less than $1,010,650. 11 U.S.C. ? 109(e). These amounts
are adjusted periodically to reflect changes in the consumer price index.
